How Do You Clean Gutters, Downspouts And Pool Cages?
My house has white gutters and downspouts and a pool cage with white framing. The white finish readily shows dirt and mildew. This is a method of cleaning these hard to reach places around the house. Use a pump garden sprayer with a one gallon tank. Add one cup of pool chlorine and a teaspoon of dish soap and fill with water. The soap will help breakdown surface tension and the bleach will kill mildew. I use pool chlorine because it’s cheap and will not affect the pool chemistry. Spray the gutters, downspouts and pool cage framing and let set for a few minutes. Wear a cap and goggles to prevent the solution from irritating your skin and eyes. Protect delicate plants from the solution. If possible, use a soft bristled boat brush that can be attached to a long handle. Brush the surfaces and rinse with water.
