How Do You Clean Grout In Tiles?
After you lay your tiles it’s always a good idea to invest in a grout sealer. Not only does it preserve your grout but it helps limit discoloration. Typically this should be applied twice a year. However, if your grout has some discoloration all is not lost. Like I tell all my clients, this is a DIY project anyone can tackle. As always, make sure you wear protection. For this DIY project you will need gloves and goggles. First make sure your floor is clean and free of any debris. Once your floor is clean mix a 50/50 solution of water and hydrogen peroxide. In other words if you use a cup water then you should mix in a cup of hydrogen peroxide. Take a toothbrush and place it in your mixture and apply it to the grout. Repeat if necessary Another method is to use a product called oxygen bleach. Mix the product with water according to the label. Apply the product on grout and let sit for 30 minutes, 60 minutes tops. After 30 minutes scrub grout, rinse, and dry.
