How Do You Clean Gold Diamond Rings?
Diamonds and gold are like other pieces of fine jewelry in that they can lose their luster after being exposed to hand lotions, soaps and everyday dirt. Cleaning gold and diamonds isn’t as difficult as it sounds. Soon, your precious gold jewelry can be sparkling like new in no time. Combine a few drops of gentle dishwashing detergent and 1 cup warm water. Soak ring in solution and scrub gently with an old, soft-bristle toothbrush. Rinse under warm water. Mix ΒΌ cup ammonia with 1 cup warm water and soak the ring for 20 minutes. Remove from the solution and gently scrub the ring with the brush. Use denture tablets or toothpaste. Dissolve a denture cleaning tablet in 1 cup of water and soak your ring in the mixture for a few minutes. You can also use toothpaste to brush your diamond’s sparkle back. Try club soda. Fill a glass with the soda and allow the ring to soak overnight.
