How Do You Clean Glazed Porcelain Tiles?
Glazed porcelain tiles have a layer of glass enamel on the outside, which gives them their colors or patterns. This glaze is similar to what is present on ceramic bowls and mugs. As you may know from a few kitchen mishaps, glazed porcelain is prone to both scratches and breakage. That may make you apprehensive about cleaning tile that is made of this material. However, it is fairly easy if you go about it in the right way. Get any dust or dirt off the surface of the tile by gently sweeping it with a hand-held broom. If the area of your tile is too large to practically do this, use the hose attachment from your vacuum cleaner instead. Just don’t roll the canister across the tile since the wheels could scratch it. Put your bucket under the tap and run it half full of hot water. Then add in 2 tbsp. of unscented dish detergent. Use the kind for washing in the sink, not for the dishwasher.
