Foam mattress toppers can provide that extra bit of comfort that your mattress doesn’t. Sparing you the cost of purchasing a whole new mattress, a foam mattress topper comes at a fraction of the cost. While you wouldn’t think that something that goes under the sheets would get dirty, the combination of sweat and dust can eventually take its toll. Though cleaning this rather large piece of foam may seem like an impossible task, it’s actually much easier than you would think. Move the mattress topper to a flat area so that you can clean it easily. Use the brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner to vacuum away loose dirt and debris. Be sure to flip it over and vacuum both sides. Sprinkle powdered laundry detergent onto obvious stains and rub gently with a clean damp cloth to remove them. Mix one part powdered laundry detergent to two parts water in a spray bottle. Ensure that the lid is on tight and shake the bottle to mix up the solution.
