Flat panel monitors are used for displaying video and are standard for most recent desktop computer models. Their thin design makes them lighter than traditional televisions or monitors and they are used in a number of applications. With constant use they can acquire a substantial amount of dirt such as smudges, fingerprints, dirt and germs from hands, and static electricity attracts dust which settles and can build up over time. Regular maintenance will ensure better quality pictures and is cheap and easy to do. Turn off the monitor. This will prevent electrical hazards from occurring and also make dirt more visible. Wipe the screen with a soft cloth going from top to bottom to remove smudges, fingerprints, dust and other dirt. Pour one part water and one part rubbing alcohol into a spray bottle.
