Try a power washer but sometimes the ivy takes some of the minerals out of the bricks and leave them pale looking in colour if so try a water sealant like thomsons thats after you have washed the brickwork and it is dry

boric acid will and then there is also some other type of cleaner that you can get at homedepot or lowes. Be mindfull that only a proffesional should use the boric acid to clean the brick with be cause there are extreme safety precautions that have to be followed to the letter. You need protective clothing and other cautions that need to be followed when using this corrosive material. On removing the ivy use a rake or something to pull it down with. Afterwards use a pressure washer first on the brick, then if a cleaning agent is needed try your local hard ware store and get recomended cleaning solution for brick if you are a do it your self.
