How Do You Clean Dried Up Latex Paint From Paintbrushes?
You’re finally ready to take on that painting project. When you find your paintbrushes they are stiff, hard and caked with dried-up latex paint. There’s no need to go out and buy new ones. With ingredients you probably have on hand, you can soften and remove that dried-up latex paint from your paintbrushes in no time at all. Remove any loose chunks of paint from the paintbrushes. Put white vinegar or denatured alcohol in coffee can, then completely submerge the bristles of the paintbrushes. Soak paintbrushes overnight. Rinse paintbrush under running water. Use large-toothed comb to “comb” the paintbrush and remove chunks of paint. Continue to rinse until water runs clear and all dried-up paint has been removed. Gently squeeze bristles between layers of towels to remove excess water. Hang up the paintbrushes by their handles until dry. Alternately, insert the handle in a small container, bristles up, and allow the paintbrushes to dry like pencils in a cup.
