One effective and easy cleaning method is a treatment with oxygen bleach, a cleansing powder that uses an oxygen reaction to lift stains from the grout. Clean the tile as usual. Use an old toothbrush to scrub off any surface grime. Put a cup of oxygen bleach powder in a bowl. Slowly add water while stirring with a spoon. Add enough water to make the power into a thick paste that is about the consistency of oatmeal. Use the spoon to spread the oxygen bleach paste onto the grout lines in a thick layer.
