Baking soda is a household staple that we can do a lot more with than bake! Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate which regulates pH levels. Besides baking with, another common use of baking soda is using it to free your refridgerator and freezer from odors. Arm & Hammer makes a great package with removable panels on the box. Simply put that in your fridge with the date on it and replace it periodically. Instead of using chemicals to deodorize your carpets, sprinkle baking soda on the carpet. Then vacuum up after 15 minutes. There will be no chemical or scented odor left behind! Use as a cleaner in kitchens and bathrooms by sprinkling a little soda into a damp sponge or cloth. Use more to create an abrasive cleaner. Use to extinguish SMALL kitchen fires. Keep a box close by the oven and stove for emergencies. Toss baking soda at the base of the flames. Deodorize your sink drains and garbage disposal with baking soda. Drop 2 tablespoons of the soda down the drain and run the tap for 1-2 min
