How Do You Clean Copper Cabinet Hardware?
People love the warm glow of new copper, but like most metals, copper can tarnish over time. Although there are many commercial products available for polishing copper, this method made from common household items works just as well. Follow these easy steps to get back that new copper look on your cabinet hardware. Remove hardware from cabinet. This will make it easier to get to all angles of the hardware. Most cabinet hardware can be simply removed with a screwdriver, but if you are not able to remove the hardware, as in the case with hinges, you can also leave them in place. Create a paste. Pour a small amount of table salt into a bowl. You’ll only need about two tablespoons. Add just enough vinegar to create a paste. If you add too much vinegar, just add more salt until you get a thick barely moist consistency. With a sponge or cloth, scrub the hardware until it shines and rinse with water. Reattach hardware to cabinets.
