How Do You Clean Clumps On Wool Blankets?
Wool blankets provide warmth and also have a long use life. The fabric is very durable and, when cleaned properly, the blanket can remain in usable condition for years. As with most wool fabrics, wool blankets can sometimes accumulate clumps when they come in contact with moisture, when washed, or when rubbed against a rough surface. These clumps can be an annoyance when the blanket is in use, and they affect the overall appearance of the blanket. Wash the blanket on the delicate cycle in a washing machine, using cold water and a gentle laundry detergent. Hang to dry, allowing the blanket to dry completely, then place in the dryer for 10 minutes to soften the fibers of the blanket. By allowing the blanket to hang dry until dried fully, you will prevent shrinkage when putting the blanket in the dryer. Remove the blanket from the dryer and rub a lint roller over it.
