How Do You Clean Carrara Marble?
Marble cannot be cleaned with traditional household cleaners because many contain harsh chemicals that can degrade and tarnish its finish. To clean marble properly, you should use a pH-balanced stone cleaner. Stone cleaners can be obtained at most hardware stores and tile supply shops. Mix stone cleaner according to manufacturer’s instructions if it is a concentrate. Clean the area of any loose debris and dust. Test the cleaner on a small inconspicuous area to make sure it will not stain or discolor the surface. If the cleaner causes any damage, consult the manufacturer or retailer. Spray the cleaner liberally across an area of a few square feet. Wipe the sponge across the surface at alternating 45-degree angles to the grout lines. Do not rub along the grout lines.
