How Do You Clean Apple Laptop Computers?
Apple computers are durable yet sensitive equipment that require soft cleaning tools and non-abrasive solvents, as the aluminum or plastic finish can easily be damaged. According to Apple, a water-dampened cloth is preferred for cleaning your laptop over a chemical-laden cleaner as the chemicals may dull the laptop’s surface, and should only be used while the device is unplugged and powered off to avoid electrical shock. Close all open and unsaved applications. Press the power button on the Apple laptop, and click “Shut Down.” Remove the AC adapter from the electrical socket and the power port on your laptop. Dampen a clean cloth with water and wring out any excess water. Wipe the outer shell of the laptop with the cleaning cloth in an up-and-down motion. Wipe the screen with the damp cloth in a downward motion. Dry the outer shell and the screen with a dry cloth to absorb moisture, and press the power button to turn on the computer.
