How Do You Clean An Auto Fuel Injector?
Fuel injectors are essentially spray nozzles that introduce fuel into your engine. However, unlike most spray nozzles, fuel injectors don’t just open and introduce fuel in one application; instead, the injector’s tiny needle valve essentially “flutters” open and closed many times each second. The area through which fuel flows through the needle valve is extremely small, generally on the order of 1 mm or less. Varnish and junk in the fuel can easily block that small area, significantly impeding fuel flow and choking engine performance. The simplest solution is to replace the vehicle’s fuel with a powerful solvent to dissolve the varnish and break loose any debris inside. Shut your car off, and allow it to sit for at least six hours to allow any built-up fuel pressure in the lines to decrease to a safe level. Disconnect the car’s battery by unbolting the cables, negative side first. Locate your car’s fuse-like fuel pump relay and pull it free of its mounting point. This relay is typicall
