How Do You Clean Accumulated Furniture Polish From Wood Furniture?
Regular applications of furniture polish will make your stained pieces look their best at all times. But such constant polishing will actually add another chore to your housekeeping list. Every so often, that accumulated polish will need to come off. You can usually tell that it’s time to start fresh when the wood feels waxy to the touch or when your most recent coat of polish goes on unevenly. When you need to eat through all of those layers of polish, just use this system. Fold a soft cloth into quarters and dampen it with a little turpentine. Slowly and thoroughly rub the dampened pad over the wooden parts of the furniture, being very careful not to touch any fabric or metal parts. As you continue working your way along the stained wood areas, keep constant tabs on the condition of your cloth. When the side you’re using starts to look very dark, stained and waxy, turn or refold the cloth so that you’re using a fresh side. Keep applying more turpentine as needed to keep the pad damp.
