How Do You Clean A Stained Marble Floor?
Marble floors are a beautiful addition to any home. This eco-friendly all-natural stone flooring is a little more difficult to remove stains from, but in all other aspects it’s worth the cost and time. A stain on marble flooring is best handled by poultices, as they are more effective than wasting your time on your hands and knees scrubbing to little or no avail. Depending on the type of stain, the poultice ingredients may vary, but the results are the same. Mix flour with hydrogen peroxide until you have a thick paste. Apply the paste to the stain and cover it with plastic wrap and tape it in place so there is no air getting in to dry it out. Leave the poultice for 24-48 hours, then remove the plastic, allowing the paste to harden. Scrape the paste away with a blunt edge and wipe with a soft clean damp cloth. This type of poultice is the most effective on organic stains such as coffee and tea. Soak cotton balls in acetone, enough to cover the stain, and place them on top of the stain.
