However all is not lost if your favorite CD gets scratched. Here are some ways you can clean a scratched CD to save it. Look for the scratch. Hold the CD up in the light and try to locate the scratch. Get a fluid based scratch repair kit. Get a soft lint-free cloth. Pour a few drops of the cleaning fluid into the cloth. Wipe the cloth across the CD starting from the inside out. Never wipe in a circular motion.
