The tank on your reverse osmosis water purifier is designed to hold two or more gallons of clean water in reserve in order to ensure a continuous flow of purified water at all times. Since the tank holds only water that has been cleaned and is ready for drinking your tank should not need to be cleaned more than approximately once per year unless the manufacturer suggests otherwise. Turn off the small valve leading from the water supply line to your reverse osmosis water purifier. This should be a small T-shaped valve that you should be able to tighten down (clockwise) by hand. If your system is set up under your sink then the small “T” shut-off valve should be very close to the water turn-off valve under your sink. Use your pliers or small crescent wrench to loosen the plastic nut holding the in-coming waterline to the plastic tank.
