With this simple technique, cleaning a glass decanter using common, inexpensive household products is easy and effective. Rinse out the glass decanter with clean water. Fill your sink with hand-hot water, add a generous squirt of dishwashing liquid and submerge the decanter in the soapy water. Use the bottle brush to clean the inside of the decanter as much as you can. Use the dish sponge to clean the outside of the decanter. If your decanter has decorative detailing on the outside, use an old toothbrush to scrub the nooks and crannies with the soapy water. Rinse the soap from the decanter with clean water.
