How Do You Clean A Gas Fireplace Insert Simply?
Although gas fireplaces don’t produce ash, dust and soot can accumulate, along with the occasional spiderweb or cobweb, which can make your fireplace box look dingy. Regularly running your vacuum cleaner wand attachment around the walls of the firebox can keep these contaminants in check. An annual scrubbing down the concrete gas logs can restore a crisp sparkle to your gas firebox. Remove the gas logs and grate setup from the firebox. Set the logs and grate onto spread-out newspapers or a tarp. Run the vacuum fitted with a brush attachment along each of the logs to pick up dust and debris. Use a stiff scrub brush to loosen any caked-on dirt, and vacuum that up as well. Run the vacuum along the floor, side walls and ceiling of the firebox, paying particular attention to the seams where the sides of the firebox meet, as this is where dust and cobwebs settle most prominently. Vacuum and wipe down the grate, if you have one, with a well-wrung rag soaked in a solution of soap and water. Wi
