How Do You Clean A Fountain Pen Nib?
Do you have a fountain pen that won’t write? Have you filled it with fresh ink only to find that it still won’t lay down a line? The solution to your problem might not be as difficult as you think. If you can, remove the nib and feed from your pen’s section. This is possible on all pens, but it’s easier with some than others. For instance, with a Pelikan or an Esterbrook pen (among others) the nib and feed simply unscrew from the section. Other times, as with a Waterman Phileas, it will be easier to unscrew the entire section from the pen’s barrel. The Pilot Vanishing Point has one of the most easily removed nibs; after unscrewing the barrel, the nib will simply slide out. If your pen’s barrel is still full of ink, be careful not to lay the pen on its side after removing the nib and feed. Place the pen upright until you’ve finished the remaining steps. If you don’t know how to remove the nib, don’t try to force it. Research the particulars of your pen’s construction first on a site lik
