How Do You Clean A DVD Burner?
If your computer’s DVD burner started making loud noises when it’s running, runs slower than normal, or won’t work at all, its lens may be clogged with dust. You can solve the problem by manually cleaning the DVD burner with a lens cleaning kit or a can of compressed air. Power on your computer and wait for the operating system to finish loading. Take the DVD out of the lens cleaning kit and evenly apply the cleaning solution onto the disc surface. Press the “Eject” button on the DVD burner drive and place the disc in the tray. Press the “Eject” button again to close the tray. Wait for the disc to automatically starts its cleaning process or instead click on “Run the Program” from the list of options that will appear if your computer pops up a window asking what action you want to take.
