How Do You Clean A Drinking Water Safe Hose?

0

Most people have experienced a hot day outside and were too lazy to go inside and get a drink, so they just drink from garden hoses. You might think if you just let the water run for a bit you will be fine, but bacteria might still be in the hose. Older hoses even have lead connectors in them, so you are harming yourself by drinking from them. Today there are many safe hoses to drink from, but seasonal cleaning is suggested. Add two gallons of water to the plastic container. Add four teaspoons of bleach to the water (two teaspoons of bleach per gallon). Stir the solution well. Roll the hose up (avoid any kinks in the roll), and submerge it completely in the water. Let it soak for a day. Remove the hose from the solution. Unroll the hose completely. Have a friend hold the end of the hose, and pour the leftover solution in the container through the hose. Connect the hose to a faucet, and allow water to run through it for 15 minutes.
