How do you clean a Down Comfortor at home, without going to the Dry Cleaners?

A comforter needs a roomier machine to clean effectively and spin without causing damage. Take your comforter to your local laundry that has a large-capacity machine, set on the gentlest cycle, and take it home to air dry if you have the space. It’s often not the washing process but the dryer that does the most damage to fabrics. We take all of our conmforters to the laundromat about once a year.

I’ve never tried it but geez, birds get wet. You could always try the home dry cleaning method in your dryer–not sure if the bags they give you are big enough–you may have to put two together. Some laundromats have huge dryers designed for comforters and bedspreads–you could try that too.
