A cast iron pipe can become clogged through a variety of ways, and there are a couple different ways to clean the clog to get your pipe flowing again. Once you find the exact area of the clog, you can clean your cast iron pipe. Find the clog. If you notice that only one sink or tub appears to be affected by the clog, then most likely your clog is due to some back up around that specific fixture, which should make your job a lot easier. If it appears that multiple areas of your plumbing are being affected by the clog, it could be a main line that’s become clogged, which does require more work and perhaps the help of a professional with a pipe snake.
