Chenille throws add an attractive and functional addition to any living area in your home. These lightly woven blankets are made of a soft material that wraps you in warmth on a cold night. Caring for a chenille throw isn’t quite the same as a regular blanket. The loose weave can cause the throw to unravel quite easily, resulting in a pile of unusable yarn. Cleaning a chenille throw requires gentle spot cleaning and whole cleaning to keep the fabric intact, feeling soft and looking new. Remove spots or stains by applying cool water as soon as possible. Rinse gently under the tap to loosen the stain. Apply a small amount of mild fabric detergent to the fabric and work it gently into the stain with your fingers. Don’t scrub at the fabric, as this will cause loosening of the fabric weave. Rinse gently but thoroughly until the water runs clear. Place the throw on a flat surface to dry.
