How Do You Clean A Charcoal Barbecue Grill?
Are the grates on your charcoal grill black instead of silver? Has your food had a strange flavor the last couple times you cooked out? If the answers to these two questions is yes, it is time to clean out your charcoal grill. Here are a few simple steps to a clean charcoal grill. Step 1 First, heat up your grill. A warm grill is much easier to clean than when the grill is cool. After cooking on a grill, let the grill cool enough that you can touch it without searing your skin. Step 2 Remove both sets of grates. Take a stiff wire brush to remove leftover food and grease from the grates. What you are not able to remove with the stiff wire brush can be removed using a scouring pad and soapy water. Repeat this step until all debris is removed from the grates. Step 3 Dump the ashes from the charcoal grill out into a trash bag or into a fire pit. DO NOT put the ashes from your charcoal grill into a compost pile. Step 4 Wipe down the inside and outside of the grill with a rag and soapy water
