How Do You Clean A Cellophane Tape Stain From A Linen Tablecloth?
A linen tablecloth exudes an air of classic elegance to any home. Like any tablecloth, however, it has been constantly exposed to substances that have the potential to stain. Food is not the only culprit. You may have pulled out a beloved linen tablecloth from storage only to discover, of all things, a cellophane tape stain on some conspicuous spot. When it comes to linen, the appropriate treatment and a bit of gentle care is necessary to remove the tape. Harden any remaining cellophane tape with an ice cube. Gently pick off the tape, or scrape it with a blunt edge using an upward motion. Take care not to jab the edge into the linen. Apply a pretreating fluid to the stain. Allow it to sit for one minute. Launder the linen tablecloth using cool water and a mild detergent on the gentle cycle. Add an oxygen bleach, if necessary. Allow the linen to air dry.
