How Do You Clean A Catfish Right?
I have lived on beautiful Lake Whitney for about 10 years and have cleaned my share of Bass, Strippers, and CATFISH. After a day out on my boat and the fun and excitement I’m faced with the task of cleaning my catch. Some people hire the job done, not me. I accomplish the task at hand with relative each. Catfish should be skinned, regardless of their size. 1. Make a cut through the skin behind the head. Start behind the pectoral fin on one side of the fish, and cut up, over and down to the other pectoral fin. 2. Use the point of the knife to split the skin down the middle of the back, from head to tail, running down on side of the dorsal fin. 3. Split the skin on the other side of the dorsal fin, connecting this cut to the one just made. The fish is now ready for skinning. 4. Grasp the skin with pliers and pull toward the tail. It should strip off in one or two pieces. Repeat the process on the other side. 5. Remove the meat along each side of the fish with a fillet knife. Cut around t
