How do you clean a camelback with home cleaning methods?
You can straighten out a wire hanger to clean the tube. Use a small wad of cotton cloth on the end. I would not use bleach, this could affect the plastic. Use hot water and dish soap for the first wash and rinse. Scrub the tube with the cotton. Then pour straight hydrogen peroxide into the tube and let it sit for 5 minutes before rinsing with warm water. Hydrogen peroxide is pretty cheap, so I would recommend coiling the tube in a container and covering with the HP. Make sure the HP fills the tube and you get all the air out. Swish the bag with HP as well. To maintain cleanliness, only carry water in your camelbak and use HP to swish it out after every use and allow to dry thoroughly before storage.
