Your Beretta .22 should be cleaned every day that it is used, as well as at least once a month. Cleaning the gun requires taking it apart first. Make absolutely sure before you do this that the gun is not loaded and that there is no bullet in the chamber. Remove the magazine with the magazine-release button. Check to make sure there is no round in the chamber. If there is one, pull the slide rearward until the round is ejected. Push the safety lever downward to cover the red warning dot. Pull the slide rearward and engage the catch to lock the slide open. Press the barrel-nut lock button and unscrew the barrel nut to remove the barrel. Release the slide catch and allow the slide to move forward again. Apply oil to the walls of the magazine box. After oiling, dry with a lint-free cotton patch; do not leave moisture inside the magazine.
