Doctors who work with patients grappling with infertility are called reproductive endocrinologists (REs). One of the services offered by REs is egg donation. An egg donor is used when a woman who wishes to become pregnant has ovarian problems. Egg donation may be anonymous, or it may be one where both donor and recipient are known to each other. Finding an RE to guide you through this process may involve several steps. Look up the number of IVF (in vitro fertilization) procedures the doctor performs each year.
