Overview Not all paralegal certificates are created equal. In the 2008-2009 edition of its Occupational Outlook Handbook, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Office of Occupational Statistics and Employment Projections states that “Certificate programs vary significantly, with some only taking a few months to complete. Most certificate programs provide intensive paralegal training for individuals who already hold college degrees.” Even looking only at the certificate programs for individuals who already hold college degrees, the variety is cause for both confusion and concern.
