How Do You Choose A Good Horse Riding School?
• Ask people you know who ride. If their riding school has a website, check it out. If it is good it will have pictures, a map, the prices and the staff listed on different pages. If you don’t have a horse, then you can’t go to a pony club. These are exclusive to riders with a horse they own or lease. • Ask yourself. Is the journey worth it? If you have to drive over an hour to get to the school, then it is not convenient for you. • Visit the school. It should have: • Helmets provided • Healthy, vice-free horses • An up to date notice board • A tidy tack room • Plenty of instructors and helpers • Varied places to ride • A building of stalls or stables • Clean Grooming kits • Friendly instructors • Safe jumping gear • Good lesson prices These things all represent a good riding school. The instructors should never cancel a lesson an rainy days, but take you to the indoor arena or work on grooming/horsemanship skills.
