After filing an accident report with your insurance company, you will be directed to choose a repair shop. Selecting the right one can make a world of difference when it comes to speed, efficacy and satisfaction. This is especially important if you have little to no knowledge of cars and are giving absolute control over to the mechanics in charge. Step 1 Find out whether your insurance company has a list of pre-approved repair shops. Ask what criteria was used to select the shops and whether they offer guarantees (as opposed to not having one if you choose a repair shop that is not on the list).
