To choose a career in accounting you need to take an assessment of your talent, ability and skill to see if they meet those needed to be an accountant. After assessing your skills you need to take a look at the various areas in accounting and see which one is the best fit for you. You should choose the area that gives you the greatest satisfaction and will utilize your skills to their fullest extent. Make a list of your skills and ability on the left hand side of a piece of paper. Next make a list off all the skills needed for one to be successful in the area of accounting. If you don’t have all of the skills needed you should be willing to acquire them. Get a list of five careers in accounting. Take a look at the job duties, for each position, that have to be completed in order for someone to fulfill the obligations of the position.
