How do you check transmission fluid level in 1997 Camry?
Most automatic transmissions require the car be parked on the flat, engine running and idling in park. Check fluid level with the transmission dipstick, make sure it is not the engine oil dipstick. Tranny fluid is reddish colored. If it is low, you need to add fluid down the dipstick tube. Requires a fine funnel.
