You should never need to add brake fluid to the reservoir of your Chevrolet Lumina sedan. The level of brake fluid in the reservoir should remain constant, only going down within an acceptable range as the brake linings wear down. The fluid level should return to its original level when new brake linings are installed. The only other reason the brake fluid level would be below normal is if there is a leak in your brake system, in which case you should have your brake system checked immediately. Turn the engine off and allow the engine to cool. Pull back on the hood release lever located under the dash to the left of the driver’s side. Lift the hood to its fully opened position.
