Samsung cell phones are equipped with a rechargeable battery pack. The battery pack can be recharged with either a standard charger that plugs into an electrical outlet or a USB (universal serial bus) cable connected to any free USB port on a computer. Recharging with a computer is a convenient way to keep the phone handy and available for use, since the Samsung must be turned on while recharging in this manner. Turn on the Samsung cell phone. Remove the protective flap over the USB port on the bottom end of the Samsung phone, using a fingernail to lift the flap. Connect the USB cable plug to the jack on the cell phone by pushing the plug in straight. The plug inserts in one direction only, so turn it over and try again if the plug does not connect correctly the first time. Insert the plug on the other end of the cable into any free USB port on your computer. Leave the cell phone turned on for the duration of the recharge.
