Changing the tire on a riding lawnmower is simple and doesn’t require much time. You may need to change a tire for many reasons, but it’s usually due to an accident during mowing or some other mishap caused by a mower setting up, like during the winter season. Maybe the riding lawnmower ran over some sharp object which caused you to have a flat, or maybe it was already flat, or just maybe the tire has been on the rider for so long it is suffering from dry rot. Drive the riding lawnmower to a part of the yard that is very level. To prevent the lawn mower from moving and to keep the tire, work on it in place, put the lawn mower in gear and put on the parking breaks. Don’t remove the rim on the axle. Leave it on to cut down on time and steps. Raise the lawnmower off the ground by placing a floor jack underneath the frame rail, differential or the cross member and keep the jack cranking until the lawn mower tire is completely off the ground.
