• Buy a set of strings from the store choosing the weight of strings you prefer. I prefer light strings. • Begin by unwinding one string on the banjo and taking it completely off. • Find the new string to replace it. Stick one end of the string in the tailpiece on the head of banjo. Stick the other end in the tuner going from the inside to the outside. • Begin winding the string by turning the tuner. Wind it until it feels tight. Tune the string by using a tuner. • Pull on the string to stretch it so it will not move in the future. Once again you must tune it. • Once the string is in tune you can use wire cutters to cut the end off.
