Step 2 Reach down the booth where the spark plug wire meets the distributor cap. Pull one spark plug wire out at a time and replace with a new one. Don’t forget to remove the other end of the wire where it is connected to the spark plug itself. Step 3 While you are removing the old spark plug wire change out the spark plug at this time. Use a spark plug socket to do so. Replace with a new spark plug. Tighten as necessary. If you have a torque wrench, tighten to the torque specifications.
