How Do You Change The Serpentine Belt On A Lexus SC300?
Vehicle manufacturers recommend specific intervals to inspect or service the serpentine belts for better engine performance. Lexus suggests checking the belt on your SC300 model every 60,000 miles. However, other factors may contribute to belt wear and tear sooner than this miles interval mark. Replace the belt whenever it shows splits, tears or some other signs of damaged. Detach the ground (black) battery cable using a wrench to make sure no one will accidentally crank the engine or to prevent the cooling fan from activating itself as you replace the belt, if you have just driven the vehicle.
