How Do You Change The Oil On A 1997 KLR 650?
The Kawasaki KLR 650 is an “enduro” motorcycle, which means it’s designed for highway riding and off-road riding with no modifications needed to go from one to the other. The number 650 denotes the engine size and indicates that this is a four-stroke, 649 cubic centimeter engine. The oil crank case is on the lower right side of the engine. Locate the metal drain plug on the bottom of the oil crank case. Place the drain pan under the drain plug. Remove the drain plug using the ratchet set. Allow all of the engine oil to completely drain from the crank case. Replace the drain plug in the bottom of the crank case and tighten the drain plug using the ratchet set. Remove the drain pan from underneath the engine. Remove the plastic cap from the top of the crank case. Insert the funnel into the opening. Pour all the four-stroke engine oil into the crank case. Remove the funnel from the crank case. Replace the plastic oil cap on the crank case and tighten the cap. Use a rag to wipe off any eng
