How Do You Change The Oil In A Lincoln Navigator?

You can save money on routine car maintenance by changing your own oil. The Lincoln Navigator runs best with oil labeled SH, CD. For a diesel engine, the oil must be labeled both SH and CD. Check the owner’s manual for the amount of oil the Lincoln Navigator takes. Change your oil around every 5,000 miles. Lift your Lincoln Navigator using a jack and then place the SUV on jack stands. If you don’t have jack stands, drive the Navigator onto a set of wheel ramps. Pop the hood and remove the dipstick and oil filler cap. The dipstick is on the driver side of the engine, except for the 7.3 liter diesel engine, which has it on the passenger side. Gather an oil drip pan, 16mm wrench, strap oil filter wrench, cleaning cloths and a new oil filter. Slide under your Lincoln. Locate the oil filter and oil drain plug underneath the Navigator. The oil drain plug is on the bottom of the engine block, with the filter stationed nearby. Remove the oil drain plug using the 16-mm wrench. Pull the plug out
