How do you change the oil in a Craftsman riding lawn mower?

Most engines have a drain plug for the oil on the lowest part of the engine near the rear on the right side as you are sitting on the mower. You will need something to catch the oil like a drain pan or a cut off jug. Loosen the plug and let all the old oil drain out. Once it quits draining then put the plug back in and fill it with fresh oil by way of the filler tube which is usually just above that drain at the top of the engine. Fill it with oil until the oil reads at the full line on the dipstick. Normally a little over a quart.
