Replacing headlights has always been a necessary evil on vehicles. The Dodge Intrepid is no exception. It uses halogen capsule headlights and requires the removal of the headlight assembly in order to obtain access to the back of the assembly. While this is a relatively benign task, the Intrepid jack screws are notorious for stripping into their plastic seats, rendering their replacement ineffectual. A good preventive maintenance procedure is to remove the jack screws before they strip and apply a lubricant to the threads, such as a graphite-based anti-seize compound.
