How Do You Change The Head Light Bulb On A 2000 VW MK4 Golf TDI?

0

In this article, we show you the steps that are required to change the head light bulb in a 2000 VW Golf TDI. The bulb beng installed is on the drivers side next to the battery. The first step is to remove the negative and positive cranking battery cables from the engine compartment to gain access to the head light bulb cover. A memory keeper should be used to retain important computer settings when the cables are removed. An alternate method is to not remove the battery from the engine compartment. Using a screwdriver, remove the cosmetic trim around the battery cover. After removal of the battery cosmetic trim, use a flat-blade screwdriver to remove clip that secures the head light cover. Remove the head light cover. Using the fingers, remove the clip and wiring connector that secures the head light bulb in bulb socket. Remove the defective head light bulb and install a new replacement bulb. Install the bulb cover and cosmetic trim in the reverse order from which it was removed.
