How do you change the fuel filter on a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer?
Fuel filters are usually pretty easy to change, especially on American cars. Spend the money on a Hayes manual for your vehicle, and use it to locate the filter. Usually it’s just a matter of loosening a couple of hose clamps (be ready to catch some fuel when you remove the hoses) to get the old one out, then reverse the process to install the new.
